Eduard 1:48 scale Lavochkin La-7

Here is another Russian plane for the collection. I enjoyed
Eduard's Yak-3 kit and wanted to do another. Once again,
this build is out of the box with no frills. The finish is Polly
Scale acrylics. The rudder stripes were masked and
painted. The weathering was accomplished using the color
modulation method. I primed with a dark brown and applied
lighter coats over it. The idea is a gradual build up of lighter
color with the darker colors bleeding through which is
similar to post shading. Additional weathering was done
with pastels and washes. The only extra detail is the
antenna wiring.

Colors used: Russian Light Gray, Russian Dark Gray,
Alclad II, Red, White

Eduard's weekend edition kits are a nice, simple break from
the more complex builds. Their quality is just as good as
their standard kits, just no extras or frills. Plus, the price is
just right. These kits are great for beginners and the more
advanced alike. You can put as little or as much into it as
you want. I always recommend Eduard products.
